The Forest over the forest
When the naturalist Alexander Von Humboldt passed through the Quindío, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing:
There was a carpet of palms over the forest! 60 - meter tall palms that stood over cloud forests creating a sheet that covered the mountains. This is one of Colombia’s most amazing landscapes, the wax palm forests of Tochesito and is only 2 hours from Salento. A car ride up to 3250 masl, where you will see dozens of orchids, some beautiful birds.
